Gratitude

Day 5: Cats and Oven Mitts

It’s getting more difficult to narrow down to just 3 things to post today. I am noticing that this practice grows. Ann Voskamp writes that she noticed “I only see it because I’m looking …” The more I practice gratitude, the more I see. Beautiful.

“Both abundance and lack exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend… when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that’s present — love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature and personal pursuits that bring us pleasure — the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience Heaven on earth.” –Sarah Ban Breathnach

Today I am grateful for:

  1. Sharing strengths and struggles with a dear friend.
  2. Our cat, Cowboy. My family has more joy because he is a part of our life.
  3.  Oven mitts. I have burned myself enough times to know that hot pads will not do it for me. Thanks to whoever invented oven mitts!

What are you thankful for today?
