Today I am thankful for:
1. This gratitude project. After the church service, several of us were visiting and one of my friends said something like, “So I see you are grateful lately.” I started to say something about how rich it is to experience the gratitude of others shared here or on facebook. Then I paused and asked a question I do not typically ask in person: “What are you grateful for today?” He paused, thought for a moment, and then began to share his love for his wife. I was humbled and honored to share in such a beautiful moment. My other friend, standing with us, expressed her gratitude for her grandparents. I felt connected with both of them in that moment. We shared something significant and important. Our hearts filled with gratitude.
2. Dinner with a dear friend. We have not seen each other in almost six months. Time goes by so quickly. It makes me realize just how precious those moments are when we spend time together. We talked about living fully and learning to be present. I confessed that I have a lot to learn, and was grateful to share my strengths and struggles with someone who understands.
3. TED talk by Shawn Achor: The happy secret to better work. I watched this with my husband recently, and was inspired by how much gratitude impacts our attitudes, helps us create healthier expectations, and experience life more fully at work and at home. I am grateful to share this experience with my husband!
Love these posts so much! I started my own “3 Things” project on Twitter, and it’s been great to reflect and just be grateful.
Fantastic. So glad we are doing this together! Blessings.
I have been keeping a running list on my computer and have “challenged” others to do the same. The biggest problem I have is narrowning the list to 3!!!
I am having the same experience. Once I get started, I start seeing so many more things that I hadn’t thought of before. So cool!
