Gratitude

Stairs, Bread, and Volunteering

Today I am thankful for:

1. Stairs. In order to get around my office and home, I navigate three flights of stairs. I love the extra exercise spread randomly throughout the day. I feel blessed that God has created our bodies in order to jump, climb, run and live into life. Grateful.

2. Fresh Bread. For the past 10 years, I have made bread for my family almost every week. A dear friend shared some of her sourdough starter with me (she’s had it for over 35 years). For many years, my kids have used it for cinnamon toast, school lunches, and awesome grilled cheese sandwiches. I look forward to 35 more years of bread making to share! If you happen to be in the Houston area, I would be delighted to share the starter with you. Savor.

3. Volunteering. Today I sold sandwiches, chips and cookies for the PTO at my freshman son’s high school. I met some delightful moms who are seasoned professionals at raising high school students. I have so much to learn! They also just happened to be moms of some of my son’s new friends. Bonus! The best part was seeing his big smile when he came by to say “hi.” My heart just lights up at the blessing of my kids!

What are you thankful for today?
