Gratitude

Unplug, Road Trip, and Elves

Today I am thankful for:

1. Unplugging. We left Houston to visit family on Wednesday morning. I finished up some work on my laptop, shut it down, and drove away. Let go. Pause. Breathe. Thanksgiving was a time to share silly jokes, card games, and savor wonderful food. The computer did not miss me one bit!

2. Road trip. I enjoy those hours when my kids and husband are all together for a few hours on the road. We listen to our favorite music, hear all about what is happening at school, and have time to bond. No distractions. I am reminded of the fact that my husband is one of my very favorite people in the whole world. Blessed.

3. My not-so-little elves. My children are growing up fast and it is a blast to watch it happen. When we got home, the three of us pulled out the Christmas boxes and got busy. Christmas music blasting. What used to take me all day, took only three hours to finish with two extra sets of hands. As I type, I am surrounded by a beautiful collection of all the Christmases we have shared together. I look forward to what this season will bring. Delight.

What are you thankful for today?
